Today's the Day!

It's here. The day is finally here! I will be closing on my house in just a few hours. I will officially be a Homeowner. Woooohoooo!!!

So much in the last two weeks has not gone according to plan, but somehow here we are. I still have to get to the bank this morning, do the final walk through this morning and then make it to the attorney's office by 10:30 for closing.  I just received a phone call that my first POD is being delivered right now and the owners are still there loading their vehicles. THEN the second POD is supposed to be delivered in just a few hours but the guy told me there is nowhere to put it. Originally I thought the two could be placed side by side on the driveway but that's a big no, so now I've got to call the POD People and see if we can schedule delivery for tomorrow. Oh, my word!!

I have to keep telling myself it's all going to work out. It's all going to be just fine. (right?) lol

I'm excited. I'm nervous about being a homeowner. I know it's going to be a lot, all of it, but I also know I will finally have a place to call my own and the best part... NO MORE MOVING! The next few days and into next week are going to be slammed with moving from one house to another, unloading these PODS and trying to arrange and put away, etc... not to mention my son, my biggest helper, is leaving in two days for a week's vacation with dad and family! What!?!?! So it will just be me unless I can wrangle some of Jacob's friends to help me out a couple of days.

Anyway, bottom line... I've got to go get ready to get out of here....

I'm going to be a HOMEOWNER in just a few hours!!!

"O, God, Thy sea is so great and my boat is so small."  This artwork was done by a sweet young lady that graduated with my son 2 years ago. Another Would Have Been Anniversary

 Today is August 3, 2023... for whatever reason this date, August 3, is hard for me. Why? Today would have been our 39th wedding anniversary if there had been no divorce. Someone I know posted something on Facebook several weeks ago on her "would have been" anniversary and I loved what she said. It struck a chord with me and I thought a long time about what she said, and I realized, "You know what? She's right." So I am going to share what she said here changing the date of course and a few other things too. How Did You?

 I was asked a very big question yesterday that I have not really thought about in a very long time. A dear friend asked me, "How in the world did you ever get accustomed to being alone?"  At the moment she asked, I was getting my hair done and couldn't respond. Truthfully, the question knocked me back a couple of steps. I had not traveled down this road in a very long time. I had a two-hour drive back home, so I pondered this. How could I answer her question and at the same time give her hope? This friend is going through a separation and eventual divorce.
